Dr. Lea Johnson inaugurated as fourth President of Maria College

On September 7, over 250 members of the Maria college community, Sisters of Mercy, civic leaders and delegates from colleges and universities throughout the region attended the inauguration of Dr. Lea Johnson.  Johnson joined Maria College in 2012 and during the past year has brought a number of significant changes to the physical plant at the college in addition to planning for an expansion of Maria’s academic offerings.

Previously Dean at American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts, Johnson also spent ten years in administration at Northeastern University, and held director’s positions at MIT and Suffolk University earlier in her career.   She received her doctorate in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania.
